MAKASAR & TORAJA TOUR DURATION : 07 DAYS
DAY 01. MORNING ARRIVAL IN MAKASSAR / DRIVE TOTANJUNG BIRA (L,D)
Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, you will meet our Tour Guide. Then take gorgeous drive to Tanjung Bira. On the way we will visit the three fingers Tamalulua waterfall in Bossolok Highland, the district of Rumbia with its marvelous mountainous view. Lunch will be served at Lembah Hijau Rumbia Restaurant, located on a small forest with rice terraces view. After lunch, continue our journey by driving up to Loka Highlands with its panoramic and fascinating views of mountainous areas and Makassarese local villages. This drive also offers an amazing sea view, viewed from some corners of Loka Highland. Then drive down hills to the center of Bantaeng regency, onwards drive through to Tanjung Bira. Late in the afternoon, arrive at the resort in Bira. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 02. BIRA—SENGKANG VIA SINJAI (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will visit Tana Beru wooden boat construction where we can see the Makassarese, Buginese and Konjo People construct and build traditional wooden Phinisi sail boats with traditional ways. Then proceed to Kajang Lekleng where we will explore the black culture of the primitive Kajang people with their customary chief called Ammatowa. Then drive to Sengkang via Pantai Timur/East Coast of South Sulawesi. Stop will be made in Sinjai for having lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, arrive in Sengkang onwards we will visit the Lake Tempe where we will have a boat trip to explore the daily life of the local Bugis fishermen who do live on the floating houses. Dinner and overnight stay at BBC Hotel Sengkang / similar—simple accommodation.
DAY 03. SENGKANG—TORAJA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will visit the weaving center where we can see women hand spin and weave traditional sutera sarong silk clothes. Then drive to Toraja via Palopo. On the way from Palopo to Toraja offers us many spectacular views where we will also stop on Puncak Paredean for having refreshment while enjoy the beautiful mountainous panorama. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, arrive in Rantepao. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 04. FULL DAY TANA TORAJA TOUR (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will take you on a full day Toraja tour. First, we will visit Lemo where we can find hanging graves with their rows of Tau-Tau sculptures. Then we will visit to Tampangallo, an ancient and natural grave in a cave with its entombed deceased. On to Kambira, where we will explore the extra ordinary of the baby graves on tree which called “ Tarra Tree “. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will have an easy walking tour from Bebo to Karuaya enjoying the afternoon atmosphere with authentic life of its local people with various typical activities. This walking tour also offers simply nice landscape of rice terraces dotted by small local villages with its Toraja Tongkonan houses. At last we will visit Kete’ Kesu, a beautiful local Torajan village which has been listed on the world heritage book where we can see old Tongkonan houses with rice barns and ancient hanging graves on the cliff-side. This village is also functioned as one of Wood Carving Centers in Tana Toraja. Then we back to the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 05. FULL DAY TANA TORAJA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will take you on another full day tour around Tana Toraja. In the morning, we will visit Londa to see the strangest graves of the world. Then proceed to Pasar Bolu to see the buffalo market of Tana Toraja where we will prove that Rantepao is the homeland of the buffaloes. Then we continue our scenic drive to Bori’ where we can find ancient monolith stones which have been nailed since the past of 600 years. Onwards to Pallawa where we can see the original style how do the Toraja people live with the formation of its Tongkonan houses Then we will take you to Tinombayo highland to enjoy the superb and spectacular view of rice terraces dotted by many rocks and small Torajan villages seen from the mountain slope. Then we will visit Batutumonga where will be having lunch at Mentiro Tiku Restaurant, offers a picturesque view of whole part of Rantepao. Then we will visit Lokomata where we will find graves on a giant rock. Proceed to Suloara to start our 1-2 hours easy walking tour to Kapalapitu enjoying a pleasant and quite walking tour with less of people and tourists. This walking tour also offers gorgeous panoramas of rice terraces, small local villages, forests with chirping of some endemic birds of Sulawesi. After arriving in Kapalapitu, drive down hills to Rantepao with impressive views en route. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.
DAY 06. TANA TORAJA – MAKASSAR – EXPLORE OF RAMMANG-RAMMANG (B,L,D)
After breakfast, check out hotel. Then drive back to Makassar via the same road. Lunch will be served at a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare. In the afternoon, we will have a short explore by taking a boat trip from River Pute to Rammang-Rammang, visiting some beautiful caves around the limestone hills area with its impressive stalactites and stalagmites. We will also have a short time to explore the black karst stone forest trying to catch good photos of the karst stones with various unique formations. After enough time, drive through to the center of Makassar to check at the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 07. SHORT CITY TOUR / TRANSFER AIRPORT (B)
After breakfast, we will take you on a short city tour around Makassar by visiting Fort Rotterdam, an Old Dutch Fortress. Then proceed to Paotere Anchorage, the traditional Makassarese and Bugines wooden Phinisi boat harbor. Then transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar to catch your flight to your next destination.
TANA TORAJA TOUR DURATION : 05 DAYS

DAY 01 : ARRIVAL – TANA TORAJA (L/D)

Then we will directly depart to Tana Toraja with approx. 8 hours drive passing through the Buginese villages with their typical houses on poles. On the way, we will visit the fishermen village in Barru district with its beautiful beach panorama. If we are lucky, we also could see the traditional Buginese “ Pa’bagan “ fisher boats. Lunch will be served at seafood Restaurant in Pare-Pare. In the afternoon, stop also will be made on Puncak Lakawan for having coffee break while enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Kabobong. Late in afternoon, arrive in Rantepao, Tana Toraja. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel.
DAY 02 : TANA TORAJA TOUR (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we will take you on a full day tour around Tana Toraja. In the morning, we will visit Lemo to see the hanging graves with their rows of Tau-Tau effigies. Continue to Londa, a burial cave where we can find entombed deceased. Then we will visit the most famous Torajan village Kete Kesu the most famous Torajan village Kete Kesu where will see the architecture of traditional Tongkonan houses with the rice barns. After that, time to explore the secret of the peculiar baby graves in Suaya / Kambira. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit Pallawa & Sa’dan famous as the center of wood carving in Tana Toraja. Then we back to the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 03 : FULLL DAY TANA TORAJA TOUR (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we will have another excursion around Tana Toraja. Today we will visit Marante & Nanggala, local Torajan villages famous for their big Tongkonan houses and old rice barns. Then to Bori’ to see the ancient and old megalith stone. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Rantepao. After lunch, take a picturesque drive to Batutumonga. On the way, we will stop in Tinombayo to enjoy a wonderful superb of extensive rice terraces with the megalith stones and impressive mountain view. At last, we can take relax with some drinks and snacks in Batutumonga while enjoy the view of Rantepao city from the hill top. Also we can take a change to have a soft trekking to explore several local villages with the typical daily life style of the society. After enough time, back to Rantepao. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
DAY 04 : FULL DAY TANA TORAJA TOUR (B/L/D)
In the morning we will drive to the east coast of Rantepao, where we will visit the Puncak Paredean to enjoy a spectacular view from the high distance. If we are lucky ( if the weather is good ) we will see the beautiful panorama of Palopo peninsula and surround areas. Here we will take a soft hiking try to catch several picturesque views nearby. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, back to Rantepao. In the afternoon, we will visit Siguntuk & Tobarana Sa’dan. After enough time, we back to the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 05. TANA TORAJA—MAKASSAR / TRANSFER AIRPORT (B,L)
After breakfast, check out hotel. Then we drive back to Makassar via the same road of 1st day. Lunch will be served Kenari Bukit Indah Restaurant Pare-Pare. In the afternoon, arrive in Makassar. Onwards, transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar to catch your flight for your next destination.

After breakfast, we will take you on a short city tour around Makassar by visiting Balla Lompoa Museum, the palace of the former Gowa kingdom where we can find all ancient collections from its royal family. Then to Sulawesi Miniature Garden to see the all types of South Sulawesian traditional houses and the Fort Somba Opu. Continue to the local Makassarese fishermen harbor in Je’neberang river. Then transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport to catch your flight for your destination. End of Tour.
